Fanning The Flames started with action and from there it was a fun filled ride.īryn and Jaxon were instructed to form a group made up of student dragons and volunteer knights to try to find the secrets of the hidden rooms in the library. The witty Bryn once again captured my heart and made me enraptured in another wonderful piece of her journey. Bryn has come a long way from who she was in book one and it showed in her character, decision and behaviours. There is no lull in either the pace or quality of the series, it's as sharp and as interesting as ever.

Her love interest, Zavian, is exactly what you want him to be, though I'm kind of into Valmont too -)! I would definitely recommend this book (and have via Facebook, Twitter, G+ and word of mouth) to anyone that is looking for a great read! Yes,I got book hangover from staying up waaay too late to finish it lol! I can't wait for the 2nd (and 3rd and 4th.As a huge fan of the Going Down in Flames series, I have to commend Fanning The Flames for being another fantastic book in this series. Review 2: I loooved this book! My favorite genre is paranormal romance (usually vampires), but Chris Cannon has opened the door to dragons for me! Bryn is a great main character! She doesn't conform, she's witty, and is "a breath of fresh air" at the Institute. It takes a while before any real action happens, but the characters are engaging, and I can't wait to read the second book. It doesn't hurt that he is dishy. The book does move a tad slowly. He is always honest with her, and cares about her, which is important for Bryn in an environment that is very hostile. He had moments of being an insensitive prick, but he made up for that. She develops a crush on Zavien, who was the one who followed her into the coffee shop.I must say I did like Z. I think finding out you are a shape-shifting dragon, hauled off to a boarding school where you are viewed as a freak, gives her some rights to her attitude. She was immature at times, but I gave her leeway because of the situation she found herself in. What follows changes her whole life forever. At times, Bryn did annoy me. Like any smart female, she goes into a brightly lit coffee shop that is filled with people and calls her parents. When we first meet Bryn, she is walking to her parents store when she notices some guys beginning to follow her.

Review 1: I really enjoyed this book-it reminded me of a cross between Harry Potter and The Vampire Academy, which I really liked.
